Some good thoughts Tub, I wouldn't be able to make saturdays either and if we had another member working alongside the judge calling up the next competitor so they are ready to take-off ASAP, we did it last year and could put 10 guys through in little over an hour. Also, 9:30 start means 9:30 start. If we are going to close the strip for the duration of competitions (Basic safety says this is a must) we need to have all rounds completed as quickly as possible to be fair to all sport fliers.
As for hosting national comps through the lower North Island, I'd love to see some closer to home and was gutted to miss the Norsewood round but have booked in for Napier in May :D. Geoff, do you know how we go about setting something up?

Breaking News...............:D At last committee meeting it was brought up again, Aerobatic sundays. We have all agreed to trial a system where aerobatics will start at 9am sharp. We will do two rounds as per club and IMAC schedules. This hopefully taking 3/4 to an hour. In the meantime the normal sunday fliers can setup and run engines etc. Our 3&4 rounds will be 11.30 as the sunday fliers head home. So we have to get up earlier, get to the field setup, engines running before 9. At 9 the club and IMAC schedules start. The advantage of this
As for a lower north island one, we need to talk with the other clubs, organise a schedule etc. In the pipeline. BUT the only thing I see is if we host it will have to be on a Saturday. Only because of the numbers that would fly and the rounds that are expected to fly. UNLESS the field is block booked in advance just like MANZ is? Food for thought. This will be promulgated in the newsletter so all members know.:D

Hi All I think 9.00 am start maybe a problem as all pilots will have to have had a test flight, as no competition allows or should allow people to just turn up and fly (SAFETY). Also everyone will be expected to have put their name on a score sheet and handed it to the CD, fueled up and be ready to fly. Therefore 9.30am maybe a better start time as one of the club rules is NO FLYING before 9.00am.
Saturday flying, well nice idea but I am not too keen on this for Club comps, also Saturdays are often the day I have to visit aunt Freda As for inter club, I think at present it is better just to follow the already listed and scheduled IMAC events. With next closest being Hawke’s Bay. http://www.nzrcaa.co.nz/calendar.htm
So next Aerobatic day, wake up early and get to the field. Also anyone who can help with running the competition please step forward. It is a club advent, people help out in clubs, or have I just invented another TUI add. So to recap start at 9.30am, all pilots fly one round , then sport flying and then field closed again for second round and so on.
ANY COMMENTS FROM SPORT FLYERS,AS NOW IS THE TIME TO HAVE YOUR SAY, NOT MOAN AND GROAN LATER.

Thanks Kelvin and Geoff, all sounds like a good idea, I am willing to help get people lined up ready to fly ior whatever is needed to get things running smoothly. But when it is booked for a 9:30 start, we need to be ready to go at 9:30 out of consideration for other sport fliers.
