Committee minutes

 Below is a very brief outline of the monthly committee meeting.  No finanicals will be shown nor will any general discussion from within the committee.  To know more put your hand up and get on it.

But in saying that, at least you will know the committee is working for you. 

 

 

Aug 09

  • Club Captain . Aeroplanes to many flying at once ,5 cones to be put out that means 5 only flyers at one time.Pit line has been permatley marked, disapline has gone out the door as to speak, pilot briefing before days flying starts.   Safety First at all times please.
  • Indoor Flying  Must get numbers up , if you want this to continue next year . Price is likely to go up in 2010. Fred to look into tribune write ups again.
  •   Was debated that the field was perhaps being over used , was agreed to close the field on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and  FRIDAYS , Saturdays by appointment , mid week to phone Bruce or Kevin to co-ordinate flying.
  • Christmas wind up to be held at dr Daves hanger ,time to be arranged.
  • Display case of vintage motors to be made and to go on lone to dr Daves hanger, Bruce Woodfeild to arrange.
  • Mervs letter about buying a laptop was talked about ,an it was agreed to make an application for fundig to se if the club can purchase one . Moved Bruce   Second Barry . Passed .
  • Bruce raised that the tainui aeroclb is holding an open day and wondered if the club was intrested in having a static display on the 13th march 2010.
  • Bruce to get a contractors price to spray the field.
  • Hamish raised the question about having a christmas float .
  • Flight box will be extended ,which ever way the wind is blowing , which side you stand on . And taxi in and out.
  • Students have purchased their own buddy systems which frees up the trainers .                                                                           

July 09

  • New battery charger required for new trainer system...Hamish getting from tower hobbies
  • two signs to be made to hang on gate re field closed and vehicle access restricted
  • inddor flyin, a good turnout still need more people to sustain
  • club night 27th August Auction
  • Trolley for generator still wip
  • 28 people confirmed for mid yearfunction at Connexions
  • Possibility of shade sails erected before summer flying?

May 2009

  • club printer to be scrapped
  • Email sent to Dr Dave thanking him for the great club night. He "Rocks"
  • sale of trainer to new club member
  • new 2nd trainer not far away from its debut
  • on busy days when aerobatics is scheduled trial time slots will be used to lessen congestion 
  • saturday and midweek training to relief congestion and allow trainees more flight times. 
  • pit to be enlarged on busy flight days
  • mid year do wip
  • Merv has brought his simulater to the field, and this has had a positive response from the new members who have never flown before.
  • white board to be purchased and used for a club day Day notices
  • club is purchasing trainer leads for different transmitters

April 2009

  • club subs are rolling in
  • GrahamJob, Greg Findon, Greg Oke have got they model flying wings badge
  • Tribune submission re whats on Sunday.  this is published when the tribune comes out.
  • trainer purchased from Les Greig getting out of the hobby.  Now for sale by the clu.
  • welcome packs still a wip
  • calendar dates set for may, june and july.  on club website
  • gazebo purchased for club activities( used on open day)
  • Mower in for a service
  • Nigel looking at a mid year get together
  • Barry parker (VP) away for 3 months
  • the committee would lke to thank each and everyone that contributed to the sucess of the open day $680 raised on the day :-)
  • Bruce and merv trialling a new simulator on mervs laptop at the cub rooms for beginners.
  • Indoor flying arrears to be monitored in regards to sponsors concern
  • 8 new membership forms were handed out on the open day and possibly 3 more.

Feb/March 2009

  • glider to have new 2.4Ghz transmitter
  • club renewals sre now due post agm
  • finances stil very positive
  • bulletin sponsors have renewed again this year.  Thanks to them and please support them where you can
  • Kelvin yeates to be bulletin editor.  Submissions to be in by the 20th of each month.  Bulletin to be posted on cub website or hard copy to those who indicate on their renewal forms
  • club night 26 March Dr Dave Baldwins hangar
  • Fred raised the point that a centre white line be maked down on the field so that this may well help people in their landing approaches  to stay on the strip ,this raised some comments and out of this came , that for the open day piano key markings will be marked at each end of the strip , Kelvin , & Peter to look into doing this .
  • Barry  raised the possibility , of over the winter months when  we cannot fly out in the field , perhapes we could hire the Arena just for club members to use only , Hamish followed this up with maybe we have a build something  out of nothing night , ( ie ) balsa  or  cans  in a team effort  first to get something into the air wins a chocolate fish or something ,
  • Things to be considered ,put your caps on , OPEN DAY 2009, Peter out line some duties  before the day such as woking bee to clean , and weed free the club house , also Merv is looking into the possibility of having another front page on the standard paper , Burnzee to do some radio plugs , Fred to see guardian & tribune papers for write ups , all members to stay on longer if possibility , on the day , only thing we cannot control is the weather ,  so lets hope we all have a good day ,

Jan 09

  • the president welcomed everyone to the new year.
  • field has been paid for another year.  Thank you members for looking after the hay, the farmer was very happy.  Hes says thanks and well done for keeping the property clear of rubbish.
  • new crystal and receiver being purchased fornew club trainer and glider
  • agm at ucol on 26 Feb
  • discussion on bulletin going out on the website.  remit at agm
  • discussion on annual subs staying the same
  • Kevin Burrows standing down as indoor convenor.  Committee as a whole to take turns as convenors.  Committee would like to thank Kevin and Barry parker for their efforts the last 2 years
  • the tree at the end of the strip has been removed and the farmer compensated
  • open day 29 march
  • bbq tables to be stained

Nov 08

  • club trainer has arrived and is curently being built by Hamish
  • tree to be removed from the end of the strip
  • bulletin maybe emailed out with only a few hard copies posted
  • indoor Feb to Dec 2009 to be advised.  Possible there will be some increase next year for indoor
  • club is buying two new bbq tables for the flying field
  • first ever minutes of the club to be held in a secure place
  • hangar in clubhouse for club trainers and gliders WIP
  • All the committee agreed that " all planes which are being started in the pitts area must be restrained at all times".  To be put onto website notices and club rules

  • a new club trainer has been purchased

  • indoor going very well.  kevin B to stand down next year organsing indoor....any volunteers
